Amarillo Police Busy With Traffic Enforcement Over Labor Day Holiday

NTSB Recommends States Reduce Blood Alcohol Level Threshold For Drunk Driving Offenses

The APD took advantage of grant funding to increase traffic enforcement over the Labor Day holiday.

Beginning last Thursday and ending Monday, Amarillo Police made five DWI arrests and two arrests for other offenses.  They also wrote 105 speeding tickets, 11 seat belt citations, 35 tickets for non-moving violations and gave out 60 warnings.

The APD also arrested three people for street racing.
