Amarillo Parking Lot Patrol Nabs Thief

Early this morning just after midnight an officer checking motel parking lots around I-40 and Soncy noticed a suspicious vehicle.

The office ran the plates and found them to be stolen.  The officer attempted to stop the car which fled westbound on I-40.  After a chase out of and back into the city, police were able to successfully deploy spike strips between Helium and Soncy.

The driver eventually fled the vehicle on foot and after a short foot pursuit was tased and taken into custody.  Inside the vehicle police found other plates and stolen property.  The car was originally reported stolen out of Roswell.

23-year-old Jacob Sawyer Gregory was taken into custody and booked into Potter County on various charges.
