Now you don't have to sneak your own booze into the movie theater!For years, Hollywood 16 has done an incredible job of supplying Amarillo with all our cinematic needs.

But now, in a tactical effort to compete with the $25 million entertainment complex that is being built in the new development on Soncy, Hollywood 16 is trying something new!

According to Lorena Barnett, a license and permit specialist with the Amarillo office of Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission, the Hollywood 16 theater has started the process of obtaining a wine and beer retail permit.

This idea of serving more than just popcorn and candy at the movies has been getting more and more popular since theaters like Alamo Drafthouse opened.

Hollywood 16 will be the first theater in Amarillo to serve alcohol. No official word on when adult beverages will be available at the theater.
