Amarillo Man Seriously Injured In Dirt Bike Accident

The Amarillo police are investigating a Saturday night dirt bike accident that seriously injured the rider.

Around 9:25pm officers were called to the 200 block of Northeast 15th. On arrival they found 29-year-old Jorge Ernesto Villalon injured from crashing his dirt bike.

Police said Villalon was operating the dirt bike westbound in the area of Northeast 15th as it goes under the Dumas Highway underpass.  Villalon drove the dirt bike up the overpass embankment.  As he was coming down the embankment he lost control of the bike and struck a concrete pillar.  Villalon was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries.  He was not wearing a helmet.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.  The Amarillo police department investigation is ongoing.
