Yesterday an Amarillo man plead guilty to a federal charge of attempting to receive meth-by-mail.  The USPS was not pleased.

Marcos Antonio Monarrez-Mendoza plead guilty to the charge, he was somewhat caught red-handed.

On November 17th, Mendoza contacted another man and asked him to pick up a U.S. Postal Service package that was shipped from Phoenix to an address that was not Mendoza's true address.

Authorities were monitoring the package and made their arrest when the other man attempted to retrieve the parcel.

The parcel contained more than a pound of methamphetamine.  He faces up to four years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine.  A sentencing date has not been set.
