Amarillo Man Found Dead At Hotel On Christmas Eve Identified

A man was found dead outside an I40 hotel on Christmas Eve morning and has now been identified.

Rory L. Jones was found around 6am on Tuesday morning outside the America's Best Value Inn.  A caller to police reported hearing screaming in the area.  When police arrived they found Jones, shot dead outside room 136.  SWAT was called in to help assist with removing the people occupying the room.  They were handled without incident.

Police have not disclosed how many people were in the room as the investigation is ongoing.  An autopsy has been scheduled today in Lubbock.
