Amarillo Man Facing Charges After Friday Night Standoff With Police

A law enforcement standoff between Potter County Sheriff's and an armed man has led to charges against the man.

On Friday the authorities responded to a call of a possible suicidal subject at 3001 Snowball.  En route officers were made aware the subject was distraught over the separation from his wife.  The also were given information related to Facebook pots from the estranged man mother's.

Before deputies arrived the mother and another caller who advised their were shots fired in the house.

The mother later fled the residence and walked down Arlie street.  The suspect came out of the house shooting a rifle including several rounds at deputies.

During the exchange of gunfire the assailant was wounded and eventually taken to the hospital and is in critical condition.
