An Amarillo man has been charged with manslaughter after a weekend hit and run.

APD responded to a traffic collision at 41st Avenue and south Washington Saturday night at around 10pm.  On arrival they found the victim of a hit and run.  34-year-old Timothy Nicholas Hilleary was driving his motorcycle on Washington when a white car turned in front of him.  The motorcycle struck the car.  The car fled the scene.

Hilleay was taken to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.

APD quickly located a white Nissan Maxima and brought the car and driver back to the scene for identification.  The driver, David Monarez, 30 was book into the Randall County Jail for intoxicated manslaughter and failure to stop and render aid.  Alcohol and speed were cited as factors in the wreck.
