Amarillo Homeowner Shoots At Burglar

An Amarillo homeowner shot at a person breaking into his truck and home Monday morning.

At around 5:55am in the 1300 block of Buena Vista Street officers responded to the scene on a report of shots fired.

Arriving officers were told by the homeowner that he was awakened by the sound of his garage door opening and his dogs growling. The homeowner retrieved his pistol and went to investigate.

The homeowner saw the man walking from the driveway near his truck toward the driveway.  The man took off running and the homeowner fired one round and yelled for the man to stop,

It is not know if the man was hit.
