Amarillo Animal Management & Welfare is at full capacity.

So many lost pets have been turned into the facility that it is at full capacity.  To help lessen the census the department is waiving several fees usually charged to get your pet out of lockup.

Not only are they waiving reclaim fees but charges for micro-chipping and rabies shots are also being suspended temporarily, through Thursday April 20.  Other medical bills charged on behalf of the animal will still be charged to the owner.

The shelter is open 10-6 Monday through Friday and 11-4 on Saturday.

Pictures of animals being held at the shelter are available on the shelter's website.
