Serving for nearly four decades in the Amarillo Independent School District, Superintendent Rod Scrodder has decided to call it a career.

Schroder joined the district more than 37 years ago as a math and science teacher and coach at Sam Houston.  After eight years of classroom work he moved to district administration as an Assistant Athletic Director and then as the Assistant Superintendent of Personnel before being named Superintendentin 2000.

Schroder and his leadership team faced significant challenges in the public eye including two bond elections in 2003 and 2013.\
